M4 CONVERTIBLE ARRIVES

BMW has launched the 510hp (479lb ft torque) M4 Competition Convertible M xDrive. The new model boasts a long name and a high-revving 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line engine at its heart, this translates its power to the road via an M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, it's capable of returning 27.7mpg. Using its system for optimum traction, the new car can sprint from 0-62mph in only 3.7-seconds but it also has a rear-biased setup, meaning it still delivers a classic M-style driving experience. Following the recent UK launch of the new M4 Competition Convertible M xDrive, M3 Competition Saloon and M4 Competition Coupé, the new M xDrive model will enter production in July.

Signature M design features can be found throughout, they compliment a new panel bow softtop roof (it can be opened or closed while moving at speeds up to 31mph in just 18-seconds), blending the practical benefits of a retractable hardtop with the classic style of a fabric hood. It is around 40 percent lighter than its predecessor’s retractable hardtop. There's room for four people inside, front seat occupants benefit from the standard-fit Air Collar system which directs warm air to the back of the neck and head, ensuring the interior is always comfortable, even when the roof is down.

Other key design elements include flared wheel arches and M Side Gills while a black rear diffuser frames two pairs of tailpipes. An M Carbon exterior package is available as an option, so too new heated M Carbon bucket seats which are sure to be a highlight of the options list for many.
