2024 Ferrari’s 1356hp Vision Gran Turismo
Ferrari has unveiled a new Vision Gran Turismo concept car, the first from Maranello designed specifically for the Gran Turismo videogame series. The single-seater was styled by Ferrari Centro Stile, taking inspiration from Ferrari Sports Prototypes such as the 330 P3 and 512 S. It is, says Ferrari, “a tantalising glimpse of the future evolution of closed-wheel racing cars”.
The design of the aerodynamic side channels has been patented by Ferrari. These direct airflow from the front underbody around the cockpit and over the side pods. At the back are a 499P-inspired rear diffuser and rear biplane wing.
The ‘virtual’ powertrain consists of the same 3.0-litre turbo V6 as in the new 499P Le Mans Hypercar but tuned to deliver 1030hp at 9000rpm, with an additional 326hp available from three electric motors, one on the rear axle and one on each of the front wheels. The full-scale design study is currently on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, where it remains until March 2023.
