2023 MG HS facelift

There’s just room to share the other news that MG Motor UK has released pricing of the new, updated HS – the company’s best-selling flagship SUV, which led UK market sales earlier this year, beating many big names. MG has retained broadly the same pricing structure as the outgoing model, with the well-equipped SE specification starting from just £23,495 on the road.

Echoing a facelift first seen in China, the new HS has a sharper, more aggressive appearance, losing some of the chrome. At the front, new bifunction LED headlights, a bold grille design and a new front bumper create an enhanced look that re-establishes the HS as MG’s largest, most luxurious SUV. At the rear, a new bumper design, revised dual exhaust outlets and LED taillights complete the contemporary new styling update, alongside a new 18’’ diamond cut wheel design.

The new MG HS will be offered in SE or Trophy specification, both offering comprehensive equipment levels. At launch, all models will be powered by a 1.5 litre, turbocharged petrol engine delivering up to 162PS.

A manual gearbox is available as standard, with an optional dual clutch DCT gearbox offered across SE and Trophy specifications. The company will continue to offer the current plugin hybrid MG HS PHEV model alongside the new 2023 HS Petrol, providing a range of options for customers looking for an affordable, high-quality brandnew SUV.

The UK (and Europe) is finally catching up with the Chinese market facelift of the MG HS, one of the company’s top sellers. Both conventional petrol and PHEV versions remain on offer.
