2024 BMW M5 Touring announced

BMW has just announced that all new 2024 M5 Touring is in development, and has teased eager enthusiasts with these photos.

As you can see, there’s not much to go on, and we’ll have to wait until 2024 for its launch, but anyone in the market for a big AMG or Audi RS estate is definitely going to want to wait and see what this new M5 Touring is like. Just like the future M5 Saloon, the Touring variant will also feature a completely newly developed partially electrified drive system. Thus, BMW M is steadily progressing on its path to electrification. “We are now also installing a hybrid drive system with typical M performance in other high-performance cars,” said Dirk Häcker, Head of Development at BMW M.

With the new M5 completing its test drives on public roads, testing of the first prototypes of the new M5 Touring is now underway in urban traffic as well as on country roads and motorways around Munich and at the BMW M headquarters in Garching. The integrated application of all drive and suspension systems will then also be carried out for the new M5 Touring on the Nürburgring, among other places, to ensure the ideal balance of sporting performance on the racetrack and superior ride comfort in all situations. With the last M5 Touring launching back in 2007, it’s about time that a new model enters the fast-estate fray, and we can’t wait.
