Unique Ford RS200 heads to auction

A Group B rallying icon that has covered just 12 miles from new will go under the hammer next week. The Ford RS200 Evolution will form part of the Iconic (formerly Silverstone Auctions) sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show Sale on November 11.

The incredibly original and low-mileage classic is one of only four right-hand drive cars from just 144 RS200s created, 24 being official Evolutions. Adding to its rarity, chassis number 086 is believed to be the only right-hand drive example built by Ford, rather than being a later conversion. Despite passing through the care of three different owners during its lifetime, it has covered just 12 miles from new having been stored between 1988 and 2011. Since then it has made only two public appearances, being displayed with the RS200 Club at Lydden Hill in Kent and then at the Silverstone circuit earlier this year.

It now heads to auction with an estimate of £500,000- £700,000. View the car, and the rest of the sale catalogue, via iconicauctioneers.com.
