Goddess at auction - desirable seven-seat Citroën DS 23 Safari dating from 1974

A stunning slice of Gallic flair could be one of the stars as Historics hosts its final sale of the year at Mercedes-Benz World on November 25, with a desirable seven-seat Citroën DS 23 Safari dating from 1974 set to go under the hammer.

The DS is widely considered as one of the most influential and advanced designs of the 20th century, and proved so popular when the initial model was launched at the Paris Motor Show that over 75,000 deposits were. This particular car is a UK-supplied righthand drive example, and features the larger and more coveted 2.3-litre engine. It’s also a very late production car, made shortly before the veil came down on manufacture in 1975. Showing a mere 55,000 miles, it’s expected to sell for £18,000-£24,000.
