All new-generation 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300
The new-generation Toyota Land Cruiser aims to reclaim its seat on the 4x4 throne
KING CRUISER
The Land Cruiser 300 retains its ladder-frame construction but rides on a new version of Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. Thanks to the LC 300’s GA-F underpinnings, it’s not only lighter than its 200-series predecessor, but also offers greater torsional rigidity. Toyota claims the LC 300 tips the scales at 200 kg less than the outgoing LC 200.
The Land Cruiser 300 will be available in three guises: GX-R, ZX and GR Sport. The latter, off-road- focused trim features items such as an adaptive variable suspension setup and fore and aft differential locks – and four new driving modes, which include Sport S, Sport S+, Comfort and Customise. Further 4x4 functionalities include Toyota’s impressive Multi-terrain Select system with off-road presets. Although seemingly analogue, the Land Cruiser 300 boasts various new-school technologies. Available for the first time on a Cruiser, the LC 300 offers a headup display. Up front, a 12,3-inch touch display takes centre stage. The digital command centre features infotainment items including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto screen mirroring and Bluetooth connectivity. Inside are six USB ports (two fore and four aft). Safety is taken care of with Toyota’s Safety Sense suite.
