2023 launch confirmed for Honda ZR-V

Honda recently announced it will be launching a medium-sized SUV called ZR-V, slotting between the HR-V and CR-V, and now the Japanese brand has also confirmed it will arrive in Europe in 2023.

The ZR-V will be powered by Honda’s e:HEV full-hybrid powertrain, unlike the e:Ny1 Prototype which is planned as Honda’s fully electric crossover. It isn’t yet known if the e:HEV powertrain Honda has decided upon is the 1.5-litre setup as seen in the Jazz and HR-V, or the more powerful 2.0-litre based e:HEV powertrain found in the upcoming hybrid Civic with 181bhp.

In these Chinese-specification photos, the ZR-V has a trapezoidal grille with a honeycomb insert, sleek LED headlights and a high shoulder line. It also features a more heavily raked tail than the CR-V, with a pronounced roof spoiler and large rear lights featuring a new taillight graphic.
