DS to go electric from 2024

Upmarket French brand DS has confirmed it will only build electric models from 2024, with sales of purely combustion and hybrid models coming to a close. Currently, every DS model on sale is offered with an electrified option. During 2020, DS had the lowest fleet average CO2 emissions in Europe, at 83.1g/km.

From 2024, DS will launch a fully-electric version of the DS 4, as well as a pure-electric model based on the Stellantis Group’s STLA Medium platform, and rumoured to utilise the DS 6 name. It will be fitted with a battery pack of up to 104kWh in capacity, for a range of more than 400 miles. According to DS, it will offer ‘remarkable technology and refinement with technical features that are a perfect fit for DS customers’.

Béatrice Foucher, DS Automoblies CEO, said: “The car industry is experiencing a change whose breadth and speed are unprecedented. As a pioneer, DS Automobiles has anticipated this move, with electrification at the centre of its strategy. It is a daring plan that will take shape from 2024.”
