Toyota revises RAV4 range for 2022

There is a new Toyota RAV4 on the horizon called the Adventure and it boasts stand-out rugged styling that perfectly suits the car’s “go anywhere” spirit.

The SUV will appeal to people who want a vehicle that matches their love of life with an off-the-beaten-track attitude, while preserving the performance and efficiency benefits of Toyota’s hybrid electric technology.

The RAV4 Adventure features a more dramatic frontend design with a new look, all-black grille and the Toyota emblem moving down from the leading edge of the bonnet to a central position on double horizontal bars. There are black surrounds to the fog lights for added impact, plus wider wheel arches and new 19-inch alloy wheels with a matt grey finish.

Moving inside, there’s a dedicated upholstery design for the seats, combining smooth, black synthetic leather with deeply quilted back and cushion sections, with contrasting orange stitching. RAV4 Adventure scuff plates are also fitted.

The RAV4 Adventure is powered by Toyota’s fourth generation hybrid electric technology and is equipped as standard with intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD-i), provided by an additional compact electric motor on the rear axle. The RAV4 hybrid powertrain combines twin electric motors and a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivering a power output of 219bhp.

At the same time as the introduction of the RAV4 Adventure, Toyota is updating the rest of the range for 2022, including the addition of projector-style LED headlights and LED fog lights. Inside there’s power adjustment for the front passenger seat, illuminated window switches and new USB-C ports. The revised range will arrive at Toyota dealers in the first quarter of 2022, with prices announced closer to its on-sale date.
