The Jaguar XJ-S-based Lynx Eventer effect

Jaguar XJ-S

As we went to press, an XJ-S-based Lynx Eventer had sold for an astonishing £62,988 via a Car and Classic online auction.

Number 11 of the 63 Eventers constructed, this was one of the five cars ‘lost’ from public view over the years, the result of it having been sitting quietly in a garage for the past eight years.

Converted as a brand new car by Lynx in September 1983, it went to its second owner in 1985, and was sold to a third keeper in 2014 at just 46,502 miles. Despite having covered just 74 miles since 2014, the V12 needed only a new fuel filter to fire up and was described as being in superb order all round. Watch out for a photo feature on the car in JW soon.
